Lucky 13

I received my LLC paperwork back from the state today, HOORAY.  While confident that I could clear that hurdle, 1 page application, it is fantastic to get it back officially from the state.  It was done in a record 6 weeks, fringe benefit of walking it in before heading over to NAHBS I guess.

Time to charge ahead with the rest of the paperwork now.  While not too superstitious, a good portion of the paperwork for this venture has hit on the 13th of any given month, kind of makes you wonder.  I may hold off until Monday for things like the reseller permit, not wanting to push my luck too far.

For now I will enjoy the fact that we are officially “Ocean Air Cycles, LLC”

The LLC will house OAC as a bicycle company for lack of a better title, Cycling lifestyle brand sounds cheesey, but is more of what it is. The sport touring frame, “rambler”, is the first in what will be a few different models. I will be working on getting my accounts together in the coming weeks to have components and build kits to flesh out the frames and forks. I have a few bag designs done and a few more to work out. A couple of shirt projects in the works, and a few other things in the works as well. All this is coming to a bit of a head, and hence the lack of blog activity. I needed to move things from myself to an LLC to keep liabilities in check with bikes and things slated to be more then the ones and twos as they have been until now.

After the last month’s check for liability insurance went in on the 13th I told myself I would stop thinking about the pattern developing, then with today looming we started to joke that the paperwork would hit the mailbox today, and of course it did
