Outtakes

Sometimes things happen.   This one was when climbing trees to set up for the Rambler Newsletter photo  Not everything that is going on always shows up in the marketing material.   It is fun but not always easy being the model, photographer and production.

Not to mention the relocation to a plan b grove of trees due to the police actually using the firing range in the back of the park for training.  In many regards it was a fun break in the day, but it may not be the immersion of leisure that it appears.  It is still the best job I have ever had.

Happy Friday!!

BIke to Work Week

Catching up a bit here, and wanted to share this one.  My wife was able to get some of my pictures in front of some of the right people at her work.  It is pretty gratifying when people like you photography enough to use it in their promotional material.

It is my hope that they inspire people to get out and ride, have some fun and find out what they may have been missing sitting in their cars on the way to work each day.

While over at the campus grabbing the shots of my work in print and dropping off the compost I ran into the Rapha van.  Turns out they are helping out with a little support for the Patagonia Bike to work week, kicking down with some espresso shots and showing off their wares. Really nice stuff that fills one’s head with ideas.

Nice guys to talk to.  It turns out they will be hanging out for a couple of lunch and evening rides.  I would love to push the persisting cold/flu into the background long enough to head out with them a bit, we will see how that goes.

Rambler Updates

I am getting very close to opening the web store for deposits, probably tonight or tomorrow morning.  Everything; shirts, posters, deposits, etc., under the current shop tab will be moving over to the storefront at that time.

You may have noticed the email list sign up box to the right side of the page, I will be using the email list to send out newsletters and such consolidating the Rambler news stuff you will see here on the blog.  As an added bonus there will be special promotions, coupon codes etc for those on the list as things move along.  Please sign up if you are interested, it helps me immensely to consolidate the requests I get for email updates.

The initial price for the Rambler frame, fork and Paul Racer brake will be $1500.  When the official storefront is open I will be taking $800 deposits.  Delivery is projected for 90 days after I am able to get a minimum of 30 orders.  I will add here that if we can reach this goal quickly, or better yet exceed it, that will not only make my day, but my contractor team will likely be motivated to beat this goal.  Remember the email thing I told you about a few lines up?  There will be a couple of ways to sweeten the deal included in newsletter number one, slated for delivery by Friday afternoon.

Until then, get out and ride

Lucky 13

I received my LLC paperwork back from the state today, HOORAY.  While confident that I could clear that hurdle, 1 page application, it is fantastic to get it back officially from the state.  It was done in a record 6 weeks, fringe benefit of walking it in before heading over to NAHBS I guess.

Time to charge ahead with the rest of the paperwork now.  While not too superstitious, a good portion of the paperwork for this venture has hit on the 13th of any given month, kind of makes you wonder.  I may hold off until Monday for things like the reseller permit, not wanting to push my luck too far.

For now I will enjoy the fact that we are officially “Ocean Air Cycles, LLC”
