1983 Sequoia Final Build – For Now

The drop bars were not the setup of choice for my wife.  I figured that was going to be the case and had a set of Nitto Albatross bars and NOS Specialized dirt drop stem on hand and ready to go.  The grips and levers took a bit of time to get together, but the finished product looks pretty darn good in my opinion.

The only other thing swapped out so far was the pedals, as with the drops, clips and straps are not here thing at the moment.  The luggage is in the design phases and fenders may show up before the next winter rains.  I entertained the idea of a 650b conversion, not much to gain for her so we are going to hold off.

This is a fantastic bike, I wish you could still walk into a shop and buy something like this off of the rack for a reasonable price.

Double Header

The fog moved out to sea after lunch, so we hit the town before nap time.  Two playgrounds and a lap around the neighborhood in less than 45 minutes….

Father’s day went fantastically by the way, but keeping it simple, dad forgot to put the memory card in the camera.  Tons of fun, tacos and a trip to the beach, but no pics, just memories.

Drop Off and Pick Up

Making a bike ride out of  trip to the post office is a great way to inject a little adventure into the Friday lunch break.  It just so happened, there was a hole in the fog and a little blue sky peaking through.  Dropping off an outbound saddle.

After the drop off, and picking up the Pro Compe I was waiting for this week, it was time to hit the park for our first playground trip.

Then off through town to check the surf,

Around the point and back towards home the clouds and fog were closing in,

It is hard to imagine a better way to spend 45 minutes in the middle of the day.

Happy Friday, Happy Father’s day and Go Play Outside this weekend!
